Privacy Policy

Postug is a reference site. You can use all of it without creating an account or giving us any personal information.
What we collect
- We have no accounts, forms or comments, so we don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country or city level), and what device and browser they use. See "Analytics" below.
- The "What's my postcode?" tool asks your browser for your location (with a permission prompt you can decline). The location is compared with a list of postcodes on your own device and is never sent to us or stored anywhere.
- The suburb and postcode search runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to us.
- Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested page) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.
Third parties your browser contacts
Suburb pages show a map. To draw it, your browser loads resources directly from:
- Google (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com), for the analytics described below.
- unpkg.com, which serves the Leaflet map library.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers, which serve the map images. They receive your IP address and the area of the map you view, under the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
We don't control these services. If you prefer not to contact them, don't scroll to the map, or block them in your browser; the rest of the page still works.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* in your browser to tell visits apart, and reports aggregated statistics to us. We don't send it your name, email or other identifying details, and we have turned off its advertising and personalization features.
- For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we keep analytics cookies switched off.
- You can opt out everywhere with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
- Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only parties involved are the providers described above.
Your choices
Because we don't keep accounts or profiles, we hold no personal information that we can look up, correct or delete by request. If you think we do hold something about you, or you have a privacy question, write to us and we will respond.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we add analytics or change how we handle data, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
