postUG is a group of professionals and hobbyist who use Open Source technologies such as Asterisk Freeswitch and technologies derived from these projects such as trixbox, pbxinaflash and many other Free telephony applications.

Welcome!

Open source telephony is growing in popularity and is being used by millions around the world. Various projects are dedicated to this and we are dedicated to their users. All open source telephony users and potential OST users are welcome here. postUG is the "phoenix open source telephony User Group." Its purpose is to bring like-minded individuals, including hobbyists, professionals, "newbs," and all like minded individuals from the Phoenix area together to discuss and advance OST.

PLUG Meeting 10/08

I presented Asterisk and open source telephony at the Phoenix Linux User Group last night. The goal was to introduce some folks to OST and Asterisk as well as officially launch the group to the community. My primary goal at the moment with postUG is to promote it and bring up the population. I would like to get a base on the site over 100 users before launching a meeting. I hope to look at other user groups such as the PHP user group, ASU Linux user group and a few other open source focused groups around the valley. Attached to this is the presentation slides from last night.

PLUG Meeting

I have put in a request to speak at the upcoming Phoenix Linux User Group Meeting for October. I will post details as they become available. The topic will be on open source telephony with a focus on Asterisk. I will alos be promoting postUG.

Book

Some would call it the Asterisk Bible. I would encourage anyone learning Asterisk to download a digital copy and to purchase "Asterisk the Future of Telephony.
